Incurring a criminal charge or conviction is one of the most stressful experiences that you or a family member may face in your lifetime. If you or a loved one are accused of one or more criminal acts in the Florida Keys, you will need a skilled legal team that will take your case seriously, aggressively fight for your rights, and help you achieve the best possible outcome.

At Reed Palacios Law, our skilled criminal defense attorneys operate out of Key West, Marathon, and Plantation Key.  We can meet with you in person or virtually to discuss your criminal charge(s) and develop an individualized plan of action that suits both your personal needs and the facts of your case.

Our legal team has over 20-years of experience representing the interests of both the government and of criminal defendants. In fact, Colleen and Victor met on opposite sides of the courtroom when Victor was a Public Defender and Colleen was an Assistant State Attorney. Later, Colleen joined the defense side and they worked together for the Office of Regional Criminal Conflict Counsel. Ultimately, Victor and Colleen joined together in private practice after realizing they could help their clients even better as a team.  They both know from experience how prosecutors build their cases, how to navigate complicated and serious criminal charges, and how to use that knowledge to our clients’ advantage.  Some of our most recent client reviews can be found here.

Our firm has offices conveniently located throughout the Florida Keys. For a free case evaluation and legal consultation with an experienced criminal defense attorney in Key West, Marathon, or Plantation Key, please call us at 305-563-7281 or contact us online.

The experienced attorneys at Reed Palacios Law have a strong track record of success when it comes to representing clients in the Monroe County Criminal Justice System and achieving favorable results.

Colleen Reed

Founding partner Colleen Reed has practiced both civil and criminal law in a variety of states throughout the country before settling in the Keys. This wealth of knowledge and experience from outside of Monroe County served her well as an Assistant State Attorney and ultimately Bureau Chief of the Middle Keys Division, where she prosecuted hundreds of misdemeanors and felonies. However, her unique career path serves her even better as a criminal defense attorney on the other side of the aisle. Colleen works tirelessly to find creative solutions to seemingly impossible obstacles, to cut through the red tape of the State Attorney’s office when no one else can, and, when appropriate, to litigate her client’s case to the maximum if that will yield the best outcome.  Colleen understands how the Monroe County Criminal Justice System works, and will fight for you and communicate with you every step of the way until your case is resolved.

She received her Juris Doctor and MBA at the University of Richmond and her Bachelor of Science at the Pennsylvania State University. Her current bar admissions include:

  • Florida State Bar
  • Virginia State Bar

Victor Palacios

Victor leans on his experience to educate his clients on their legal options when defending them against a criminal charge.
